Stoked on the heat win and avoiding drowning

ha ha i was scared on the back of this thing dude was driving so fast
Well is was and interesting start to the 6 star WQS here in Florianopolis Brazil for me the event was supposed to start yesterday but a massive cyclone tore through the beach and town and the event was put on hold, a blessing in disguise for me as i went down with food poisoning from some fishy fish and spent the day in bed.
Today the storm had backed of but the sea was still looking pretty angry with solid eight foot sets washing through the lineup.
Surfers were finding it hard to put two scoring waves together before they got washed back to the beach.
The paddle out was so bad that the contest dirrectors allowed jet ski assisted lifts out into the line up.
I chose to ride my 6′1 Luke Hart Quiver pin tail just so i would be able to paddle out there with all the current running.
Back on my feet again but not feeling to strong the prospect of having to paddle around in some pretty serious conditions if your not up to scratch was playing on my mind a little, but my heat went well and i landed a massive floater to win the heat and advance into the next round.
I’m glad i didn’t have to go back out and tomorrow i should have my strength back ready to smash it.
Wish me luck
