Hello from Itamambucca Brazil the 5 star WQS surf comp started today with the round of 120 the waves are small but have good shape a little wedge in the southern corner is the site for the event.
The round of 96 will run tomorrow im in heat 6 with 3 Brazilians so its a chilled out day for me, just got back from a little surf, the depth of Brazilian surfing talent is staggering with young groms carving and flying all over the place.
Itamambucca beach is a lovely place real chilled out friendly people and the beach is backed by rain forest covered mountains I will take a picture and post it up here so you can see its beautiful.
Thought I would post this pic of the 5′9 Evopop swallow tail ive been riding over here Luke Hart shaped me this small wave board and its performing really well over here I think this will be a perfect summer board for home and the WQS events in Europe.
This board is basically the on going development of the Evopop, the Evopop came about because I wanted all the characteristics of the Stoke-a-pop fast loose good for airs but in a board more suited to competition, Luke usually puts the little Cadillac tail on these boards but we wanted to see how a swallow felt I haven’t really ridden a swallow tail board since I was a grom but this board felt great on the first wave real smooth fast and you can play with it in the lip.
